Book Quotes: Lance Armstrong

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

I remember using this phrase, or trying to anyway, when I was running a half-marathon (or trying to anyway) several years ago.

And I remember thinking, as my right hamstring went bye-bye on me during the run, that pain may be temporary, but it still hurts like hell.

That said, I'm now going through my manuscript, painstakingly, so to speak, and maybe I'll try and remember that same phrase - I think maybe it applies now just as well.
