If so, you might consider trying MaryJanice Davidson's "Undead" series. MJ is an author who started out in e-books, but who jumped the Great Chasm to paperback and now hardcover. Her "Undead" series is much lighter--sort of "Sex & the City" meets "Dracula" with a definite chick lit voice.
I do like her, and I think she's maintained a good consistency so far in the books I've read. As for the HBO series, I haven't seen it yet, but I have two friends who work there and rave about the show.
Also Mark Henry's upcoming "Happy Hour of the Damned"--I got to read an ARC and it's excellent. (Disclosure: Mark is my friend. His book is still fantastic. Sexy, scary fun.)

Jonathan: Did you like Charlaine Harris?

I liked Definitely Dead. Have you seen any of the HBO series?
Have you read Christopher Moore? Just finished a Dirty Job. Excellent. He's a new auto-buy.
Um, yeah, just realized the HBO series isn't on yet. Never mind.
Also, have to echo Maya on MJD. Gets a little repetitive after a while, but the first few books are funny.

I'll definitely check out Christopher Moore.
And of course I'll check out MaryJanice, though it might be a bit light for my personal reading.
I second Moore. He's great.

Christopher Moore has also become an auto-buy of mine.
Lamb is the funniest of a funny lot, IMHO.
Dwight, I just bought Lamb with the special leather cover and gold-edged paper so it looks like a bible. I can't wait to start it.
Have you read 'The Shadow of the Wind,' by Carlos Ruiz Zafron? You should check it out.
Ohhh, I was looking for something new to read so I'll try Christopher Moore.
Thanks!!
