Friday Musings

Alas, my San Antonio Spurs failed to advance to the NBA finals. It seems that cranes are falling down everywhere in Manhattan. Book sales are projected to remain flat for the next three years, and Harry Potter can't save publishing.

But there is some good news. I signed up a new client yesterday. My back is hurting a lot less. It's Friday, and it's a beautiful day.

Hurrah for new clients, TGIF's improving ailments and beautiful days.

Boo for your Spurs. Better luck next year right? My team is out as well if it is any help to you!

I think the publishing industry is waiting in the wings for the next big thing. In two to three years it will come.

Did I just read somewhere that religious books are down and aren't expected to rise? I guess that's wrong, according to this piece. Ah well, you can't pay too much attention to these things. Better to focus on a nice day.

Yay for new client!

Hmm... while it'd obviously be better if they were expecting more growth in the industry, at least it doesn't sound as bad as some of more gloom-and-doom-type economists would have us believe. Just have to cross our fingers and keep buying books.

Sorry about the Spurs -- I would have loved to see TX represent again. I'm just hoping my Rockets can pull it together next year...
