Okay, after watching the segment Hodgman did on "The Rachel Maddow Show" I realize that it must have been recorded just for inclusion in his bit on "The Daily Show." It was otherwise not there.
It was still funny though.

It was humorous. Now all I have to do is watch a replay of "The Rachel Maddow Show" to see the context of his anecdote.
